The weekend continues! If you missed Thursday and Friday, feel free to catch up first!
I'm keeping my Shermer High School shirt safe because I'm pretty sure it's good luck.
We stayed through for Ron Perlman's panel and in true GalaxyCon fashion, it was one of those panels that you didn't expect to be as awesome as it was. The first 20 seconds after he walked in the door proved that:
I wasn't a "fan" so to speak before, but I am now! He was only here for one day but he made the most of it!
Another Q&A that surprised me with how great it was, ended up being Rachael Leigh Cook's panel. Apparently she was punch drunk from taking the red eye in from LA at 1AM and had been up ever since (it was after 5PM at this point)! She was HILARIOUS! I asked her about working with Kay Hanley (the singing voice for Josie in Josie and the Pussycats) and it led to a very entertaining story about finding her stage presence for Josie.
We decided it would be best to head out as we had another full day of panels on Sunday! Only one more day left though! It might have ended up being my favorite though...
SATURDAY: Panels, panels, and more panels! This was by far the busiest and most crowded day of the whole weekend. We knew this going in, so we planned to get there right when it opened. Not sure if that was a good decision, or a horrible one, but we somehow made it down to the expo floor. Because we had another packed day, but also a few celebs we still wanted to meet, we headed over to Summer Glau's line to wait for her to get here. Thankfully we were pretty close to the front. While we were waiting, I noticed one of the volunteers for Catherine Tate (who's table was right next to Summer's) had an epic chain-mail Wonder Woman headband. I'm glad I went over to say hi because it's been over a week since I complimented Becca on her awesome fandom style and I don't know how I survived this long without her in my life!
Summer Glau might just be the most polite and eloquent person I've ever met in my life. Her daughters were with her and I'm glad I mentioned that Jodi Benson was in attendance. I hope they got to meet the voice of Ariel and Thumbelina! She complimented my shirt (from Amourable Art) seemed pleasantly surprised when we told her we'd be at her panel later, as if she was shocked that people would sit in a room just to listen to her talk! I really enjoyed her Q&A, especially because we opened it by singing Happy Birthday to her. My posture was nice and tall for the rest of the day after meeting her; her ballerina background only added to her grace!
Even though we saw her the night before, we made sure to catch Catherine Tate's panel. Those of us that had attended David's panel, relived a few good laughs and thoroughly enjoyed that many peoples' questions were "Hey Catherine, I've got a new business!" Somehow I managed to take only a few photos (which I won't post because she's VERY particular about the angles of her photos! 😂) and no videos!
Hightailing it to the smaller "Super Stage" we waited in a line-ish to be able to get into Anthony Michael Hall's Q&A. And waited. And waited some more. Jason David Frank apparently had no concept of time and went 15 minutes over his panel time! Eventually a few of us outside got fed up with waiting around and just waltzed in! It worked out well, since we got in the third row! Nervous, but knowing I had to say SOMETHING to this man, I got in the questions line. I stole Brian's question from Judith Hoag on Thursday and thank whoever it's on video because after he remembered my name (AGAIN!) I just kinda mumbled something, made a comment about baseball and was sitting down again.
Here's me being ridiculous after he remembers my name:

Kay Hanley saw this video on Instagram and commented about how wonderful Rachael is, which only makes this that much better.
Since we didn't get the opportunity to meet her earlier, Brian graciously opted out of Meatloaf's Q&A so we could go downstairs and meet Rachael. Still punch drunk and hilarious, she was so great to meet and talk to. Our selfie looks like 3 friends hanging out, not 2 geeks getting a picture with someone who's been in a movie with Paul Walker, Matthew Lillard, AND Freddie Prinze Jr.! She also complimented my hair twice and told me I should get as many pictures as possible because it was awesome. I may have mumbled something ridiculous like "You're awesome" but she was thankfully too sleep deprived to hear.
