Here we are! The last day! If you want to catch up, you can read about Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
It was the best panel. It was my favorite moment. I have watched that video (and the insane one that I took from my angle) every day since. Brian understood that going down to the table to say hi again, even though we already had the selfie, was worth missing John Cusack for me.
Again, telling myself to be cool, chill out, don't be weird. I reiterated how grateful I was and that meeting him was a huge bucket list moment for me. And then came the question:
I LOVE when people ask this question. Brian and I have been together for 6 years and no, we're not married. It's 100% in the cards, it's just not something we've done yet. It doesn't bother me when people ask, I think it's hilarious. It's hilarious because Brian gets SLAMMED with questions. Here's what follows:
And the day wasn't even over!! We caught the tail end of Jodi Benson's panel where she sang "Part of Your World" (which I won't share because copyright). We finished the day with a Nightmare Before Christmas Q&A with Ken Page (Oogie Boogie) and Chris Sarandon (Jack Skellington). My favorite part is when Ken Page talks about how he came up with the voice of Oogie:
Before we knew it...GalaxyCon was over! I can't believe 4 days went by so quickly and that we managed to do ALL THAT in ONLY 4 days. GalaxyCon is my favorite time of the year because we get to do so much, meet so many of our favorite celebs, hang out with geek friends, make NEW geek friends, and create memories that last WAY longer than the long weekend.
For now, Con Crash is a very real thing and while I recover, I've started to plan and save for 2020. There's been talk that we MIGHT even be able to head up to GalaxyCon Richmond in Feb/March of 2020?! Until then...
SUNDAY: In case you've been trying to figure out how we managed to keep all these days straight, here's my Google Calendar for GalaxyCon Weekend:
I've mentioned it before, but this was definitely not my first rodeo. The day I got the program guide in my email, I was comparing schedules and planning photo ops. With the exception of Rocky Horror (which we chose to skip pre-Con so I could see Will Friedle) we made it to everything we planned on, unless calling an audible for a more awesome reason.
Since we checked off all the selfies and photo ops in the previous 3 days, we used the time before our first panel to walk around, see if we missed anything, and say hi to any celebs that were around. Since he didn't have a big line (how?!) we went to say bye to Anthony Michael Hall since we knew we'd be in panels all day. Yes, for the third day in a row, he remembered me and told me he'd be back next year. Good thing I'm saving that Shermer High School t-shirt I made!
We passed by Rachael Leigh Cook's table again and asked if she had gotten any sleep, said hi to Judith Hoag (we also saw her before we left for good and got to say bye - seriously the sweetest woman ever!) and Brian got to meet the man behind the Godzilla suit from Godzilla 2000.
Heading back up into panel territory, we grabbed a seat for The Office panel. Full Disclosure: I've never watched The Office. We honestly sat there so we could get a good seat for George Takei. Which we SO did. Brian even went up to ask a question, however, George was rather long winded in his answers and the person in front of him asked 2 questions (you're only supposed to ask one!) and Brian was cut off before he could speak to him. As upsetting as that was, we raced to the Super stage to get a good seat for Will Friedle.
As a short person, I try VERY hard to get an aisle seat for anything. This panel was already starting to fill up (as I suspected) so when given the opportunity to line up for questions, I raced. Like full on sprinted to make sure I was in that line. I was second in line and shaking like a leaf.
Storytime: Will Friedle's movies & TV shows have been my go-to mood booster since 1996 when I first started watching Boy Meets World. I recorded "H-E-Double Hockey Sticks" live when it played on the Wonderful World of Disney and knew every word to "My Date with the President's Daughter". Does anyone remember when you could record sounds and make them ringtones on cell phones back in the day? All my alerts were phrases from Eric on Boy Meets World. To this day, I remember way too many lines from the show, and I can prove this because Brian and I are watching the series from the beginning (thanks, Hulu!).
TL;DR Growing up, Will Friedle was the one actor I turned to basically my whole life when I needed a smile or laugh.

Not quite creepy stalker obsessed, but a definite fan! |
And now I was going to talk to him. The fact that I didn't cry (like I did when I met Ralph Macchio last year) is still amazing to me. Will came out for his panel and, like David Tennant, asked if it was cool if he brought a guest. Out walked Christy Carlson Romano (of Even Stevens & Kim Possible - MORE childhood!). The guy ahead of me asked his question, and moved out of the way. For DAYS I had been saying to myself "Just be cool, say something witty and funny! Just BE COOL." I somehow managed to get my question out, cheesin HARD the whole time. I attempted to record while standing at the mic but I was so nervous, half of it of the wall, so you get to witness Brian's recording from the GoPro:

"Are you guys married? Dating?"
Will: How long have you been dating? We all have a good laugh, the line is getting longer behind us so I ask if I can get a fist bump or a high five or a hug, to which Will offers any or all of them. It must have been a great hug because I was so excited I barely remember it (surprise, surprise!). Another comment about getting married was made and I told him I'd invite him to the wedding. He called out "You better!" and now Brian needs to hurry the hell up so I can invite Will Friedle to my wedding before he forgets.
Brian: *Makes a "here it comes" face*
Me: Six Years
Will: DUDE!
Brian: I KNOW! I KNOW!
Me: *Laughing hysterically*
Will: *Hitting his wedding ring on the table* I'm not gonna say anything man. I'm not! I'm just gonna hit my wedding ring on the table and hope you get the hint.
